Unilever is a world-leader in consumer goods, owning hundreds of brands used by more than 3.4 billion people around the world. The conglomerate’s brands include Ben & Jerry’s, Comfort, Dove, Hellmann’s, and Knorr.

Salvo Grima Group’s nation-wide distribution operations in Rwanda will be officially launched today, 15th July 2022.

In light of said appointment, the local distribution company is expanding its operations in Rwanda to employ 80 local employees, invest in over 30 distribution vehicles, and operate 17 regional depots – nine of which are shared with a local logistics partner.

These efforts are set to increase the group’s distribution networks and allow it to supply clients across the entire country.

“This is a landmark moment for our group and we are proud that Unilever has entrusted us with this new operation; we have an excellent Rwandan team in place who have been hard at work to ensure that the project will run smoothly and efficiently, in line with world class standards,” Salvo Grima Group CEO Karl Aquilina said.

“This new appointment also coincides with the recent launch of our new corporate premises in Kigali’s business district, which will serve as our Group’s Africa Headquarters. We are pleased to increase our investment in Rwanda as the country provides a stable and well-equipped base for international brands to reach markets in central Africa,” he continued.

Salvo Grima Rwanda, established in 2020, is part of the Malta-owned Salvo Grima Group of Companies which specialises in the distribution of consumer goods to markets in Africa on behalf of leading global brands.

Salvo Grima Rwanda is the official national distributor for BAT, Danone, Essity, Mars Wrigley and Unilever. Globally, Salvo Grima Group operates in 7 countries and employs over 200 individuals.
