On Thursday (today), Gordon Pace, Calypso Radio owner as well as Founder and Managing Director of Y Ltd, revealed his one-word secret he learned from his years in business, “respect.”

Reflecting on his 11th year in business on LinkedIn, Mr Pace recounted how his humble journey started.

“I used to meet clients at McCafé and other such places. It was tough, exciting and, above all, challenging. Loved every minute,” Mr Pace said.

Mr Pace founded Y Ltd in 2013, a company providing Public Relations and Marketing consultancy services. Eventually the company evolved into organising concerts and events.

In 2018, the company tapped into training, recruitment and teambuilding services and is currently behind the organisation of various career days. In addition, the company also branched into private tours in Malta for tourists visiting for business or travel.

The year 2019 marked a big milestone for the company as it took over the operations of Calypso Radio 101.8. Mr Pace completed the purchase of the station in March 2023.

Now, three offices later with a team of 31 people he acknowledges that the real secret is respect.

“Respect your clients and their trust, respect your colleagues, their partners, and their values. This, in my humble opinion, is what creates a healthy business culture and a solid reputation,” he remarked.

Looking at his business now, he stated that he’s still leading a small business but he’s proud of what he and the team have achieved while respecting and supporting each other’s talents and ambitions.

“No business model is stronger,” Mr Pace concluded.
