Central Business Centres (CBC) plc is mourning the loss of its Director, Alfred Sladden who passed away on Wednesday 20th November.
The company formally announced his passing through the Malta Stock Exchange.
Mr Sladden served as a senior independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of CBC.
“He was regarded as an excellent professional and a highly valued member of the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee,” the company shared.
While noting that it will honour Mr Sladden’s memory, it also extends its deepest condolences to all who are mourning his loss.
Mr Sladden started his career at Barclays Bank, Malta, in 1954. Later, in 1968, he was appointed as senior training manager at Barclays Bank in London.
Throughout the years he held different roles with credit institutions, including Manager of various branches of Barclays Bank, Credit Advisor of Bank of Valletta, Head of Internal Audit at Mid-Med Bank, Assistant General Manager for administration, and Assistant General Manager of the International Finance Division as well as Deputy General Manager for corporate strategy at Mid-Med.
In 1994, he was appointed as General Manager of Investment Finance Bank, a position he held until 1995, while also serving as Director of Mid-Med Life Insurance until 1996.
He also held the post of General Manager of finance and operations at Mid-Med Bank between 1995 and 1998. Between 1998-1999, he was appointed Chairman of Maltapost and the Foundation for Medical Services.
From 1999 to 2008, he served as Financial Advisor to Eurochange Financial Services, while also holding the position of Chairman of the VAT Appeals Board from 1999 to 2011, both on a part-time basis.
Additionally, he was the Executive Director of an affiliate company of the Corinthia Group of the Czech Republic between 2000 and 2010.
He also held the post of Financial Advisor to Technoline Ltd between 2009-2013.
