On Wednesday (today), Business Venture Group’s Executive Chairman Daniel Abela, shared that The Children in Need Foundation donated €18,000 to Beyond the Moon.

Beyond the Moon is an organisation that offers families with sick children a free vacation and interactive 3D murals in children’s hospitals.

Vacations organised by Beyond the Moon are taken far away from hospitals, before or after a medical treatment.

On LinkedIn, Mr Abela shared that knowing that the foundation is making “a world of difference” for Maltese families with sick children creates a sense of accomplishment, fulfilment, inner peace and calm.

He added that, in the circumstances, being able to get away for a while for a family with a sick child is not a luxury.

“It is a valuable investment in the well-being and resilience of the entire family, who would have been to hell and back treating their beloved child. Would you walk through fire for your own? I know I would,” Mr Abela remarked.

The Children in Need Foundation was established in 2000 by Mr Abela, who also serves the role of Chairman, and was officially registered as a voluntary organisation in 2013.

It aims to raise funds and awareness in support of the physical, social and educational needs of children who are at a disadvantage in society.

The foundation has worked on different projects, including the Guardian Angel Initiative, where 13 schools were financially supported to help children, as well as building and equipping an educational centre for children with learning disabilities.
