Etienne Gatt has continued his career progression at the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), taking on the position of People & Culture Director after more than seven years with the regulator.
Mr Gatt joined the MGA in 2019 as Senior HR Executive and has since held a number of increasingly senior positions spanning human resources, corporate affairs, public relations and communications.
During his time at the authority, he served as Human Resources and Corporate Affairs Manager before becoming Head of Human Resources, PR and Communications. He subsequently spent almost three years as HR and PR & Communications Director.
Announcing his latest position, Mr Gatt said the MGA’s People & Culture function has continued to evolve as the organisation places a sharper focus on leadership, capability, succession and long-term organisational sustainability.
“As organisations evolve, so do the demands placed on their people, leaders and culture,” he said.
In his new role, Mr Gatt said his focus will be on strengthening leadership capabilities, insight-led decision-making, learning, coaching and talent development, while supporting the regulator’s future organisational needs.
Reflecting on his journey at the MGA so far, he highlighted the opportunity to contribute to the development of people, teams and functions within the organisation.
“Supporting leaders in their growth, building capability and helping functions evolve to a point where they can thrive with dedicated focus has been particularly rewarding,” he said.
Mr Gatt also thanked colleagues who have supported his development at the authority, including Christopher Formosa for his “constant guidance and mentorship” and Kim Dalli for her contribution to the growth of the MGA’s PR and Communications function.
Looking ahead, Mr Gatt said the next phase of his career at the regulator will bring “a renewed focus on people, culture and leadership”, together with developing the capabilities needed to support the MGA’s continued growth.
