Life has certainly been interesting, particularly over the past three years. For some it proved to be more challenging.

“2023 has been my year of pacing, reflection, and gratitude,” Crispy Studio Co-Founder Stephanie Bonello shared on Wednesday

Sharing her two cents about life’s biggest challenges, Ms Bonello said that this year, she found solace through therapy, a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and putting her house in order.

Nonetheless, she remarks that upon reflection of the past year, it was clear that “pacing isn’t just good. It’s essential in this fast-paced world. Everyone has a story to tell, and we need to listen to each other to carry another through.”

Looking back on the past six years, Ms Bonello recalled taking the plunge and starting her self-employed journey in 2017. She also added that in the same year, she welcomed her first child. This was followed by her second in 2019.

“Life was doing ok, until the unforeseen challenges hit,” she remarked.

Ms Bonello stated that 2020 brought the opening of Crispy Studio, yet it was “overshadowed by the pandemic”.

Unfortunately, soon after that she experienced two miscarriages, in May 2021 and 2022.

On a positive note, summer of 2023 became her breathing space, allowing her to recollect herself amid the chaos. “I also had the great opportunity to refresh my 20-year spiritual journey in the Holy Land,” she continued.

Ms Bonello took the opportunity to thank her inner circle, therapist, business communities, and Catholic community, as through them, she has “come to appreciate more than the importance of pacing life”.

Wrapping up her thoughts, she understands that her life is inherently unpredictable, with some years proving more challenging than others.

“We are not robots, but human beings. We need moments to breathe and reconnect with ourselves to go through life’s challenges,” concluded Ms Bonello.
