Josef Dimech, Owner and Chairman of JD Holdings, is celebrating his birthday on Wednesday (today).

In a celebratory post addressed to him on the day, the team at JD Capital, a subsidiary of the company, described Mr Dimech as “one of the most mindful and altruistic giants” they know.

“Today it’s not the number of years that matters, but celebrating the life in those years, the achievements, the friendships, the respect, the camaraderie, the leadership, the determination, but most of all, that big heart of yours,” it continued.

“Today we celebrate the difference you make in our lives,” the team continued, before expressing gratitude to him.

Sharing the same post, JD Capital CEO Franco Azzopardi added that in Mr Dimech he sees a “unique strategist and a bold entrepreneur,” with a “resolved mindset to achieve ambitions.”

JD Holdings was founded by the Dimech family, which has been in the business of aluminium, steel, and stainless steel works for more than 30 years.

At the age of 16, Mr Dimech started working in his father’s garage in Msida on a part-time basis. He learnt the trade from his father, and while he initially only worked with wrought iron, his passion for the craft and entrepreneurial spirit turned it into regular work with established clients, growing the company further.

Today, he is Chairman of JD Holdings Group, which includes JD Capital, JD Operations Ltd (formerly JSDimech Ltd), and JD Birkirkara Ltd.
