Brown’s Pharmacy, Malta’s largest chain of retail pharmacies, has announced a series of leadership changes, including the appointment of Alexander Fenech as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and Tiziana Ceci as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Mr Fenech, Brown’s Co-Founder who previously served as CEO, will now focus on shaping the group’s long-term vision and identifying strategic opportunities for sustainable growth in his new role as CSO.
Ms Ceci, a pharmacist by profession and holder of a Master’s in Business Administration from Henley, will report directly to Mr Fenech. Having started her career at Brown’s as a student pharmacist, she has since held various management roles within the company.
“Ms Ceci has been a catalyst for the Brown’s Group, assisting with the growth in the Brown’s pharmacies around Malta, recruiting exceptional talent, mentoring future leaders, and building distinguished teams,” the company said in a statement.
In addition to the executive reshuffle, Brown’s has also made changes to its Board of Directors. Jacqueline Camilleri and Marthese Vella have been appointed as Non-Executive Independent Directors.
Ms Camilleri, a certified public accountant, holds a degree in Accountancy and an MBA. She currently serves as CEO of Golden Care Home and Porziuncola Care Home, and sits on several boards including Hili Finance Company plc, Harvest Technology plc, and IZI Finance plc. She has also held senior roles within the AX Holdings group of companies.
Ms Vella, who holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Information Management, brings over 30 years of experience in the technology sector. She has previously served as Group IT Director and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Island Hotels Group Holdings plc and as CIO at Azure Malta. She currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at AX Group and is also a Non-Executive Director at Novum Bank Limited.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Muscat has stepped down as Director, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and member of the Audit Committee, while Joseph Caruana has also resigned from his roles as Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee.
