Anticipation for Startup Festival Malta 2024 continues to build, following the announcement that Alexandre Dreyfus will deliver a keynote address.

Mr Dreyfus is the CEO of Chiliz and creator of Fan Token, a company which has transformed fan engagement in sports, through blockchain technology.

The Startup Festival Malta is an annual event organised by Malta Enterprise aimed at strengthening the Malta startup ecosystem. This year’s edition is set to take place between Thursday 17th and Saturday 19th October at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta’ Qali.

The festival will bring together entrepreneurs, tech enthusiasts, and investors to explore emerging trends and innovations. It will feature a diverse range of speakers, workshops, and networking opportunities.

Mr Dreyfus’ venture, Chiliz, launched in 2018, introduced Web3 integration to iconic teams such as FC Barcelona, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Today, Chiliz has a global community of over 2.3 million users, positioning Dreyfus as a key figure in the intersection of sports and Web3.

During the festival, he will be sharing valuable insights into his journey and the future of fan engagement in the digital age. His talk will explore how decentralised technologies are reshaping the way fans interact with their favourite teams, offering a unique perspective on the sports industry’s evolution.

Anthony David Gatt, Malta Enterprise Chief Marketing Officer commented that with each speaker and workshop the team confirms, they feel closer to creating more value for the attendees.

“We are pushing hard to have talent meet talent to inspire each other on how we can achieve our targets – and possibly even collaborate in doing so,” he commented.

Expanding further on his point, he makes reference to last year, when an avant-garde creative met a multi-generational hospitality business founder on the expo floor.
