GO plc has announced the appointment of Alison Mercieca as its new Chief Commercial Officer.

Ms Mercieca brings more than 22 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, much of it spent within GO itself. Her career has been defined by strategic leadership, successful project execution, and a consistent focus on customer experience.

She initially led the company’s Project Management Office (PMO), where she was responsible for major cross-functional initiatives and large-scale business transformation. In the past five years, she has headed GO’s Business-to-Consumer (B2C) Marketing team, overseeing product development and customer communications. During this time, she played a key role in launching new services such as Tokis and GO Energi, while strengthening brand positioning and driving market share.

In a LinkedIn post, GO stated, “We’re pleased to welcome [Ms Mercieca] to GO’s Executive Committee as our new Chief Commercial Officer. With a proven track record of collaboration and growth at GO, [Ms Mercieca] brings a wealth of experience in strategic leadership and team building.”

GO also praised her dedication to fostering teamwork and “challenging the status quo,” noting her contribution to the creation of a high-performing commercial team.

Commenting on her leadership style, she said: “I consider myself very fortunate to have always worked with talented and dedicated individuals. Together, we’ve achieved great things while continuously learning and growing. For me, the most rewarding part is the team itself and the dynamics we’ve built. That sense of trust, energy, and collaboration gives us the strength and motivation to overcome any challenge and make things happen. While we’ve seen excellent results, all our success is truly a reflection of the incredible team we are.”

Ms Mercieca holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Computing from the University of Malta and currently sits on the board of AQS Med Limited.
