Anabel Armeni Cauchi has been appointed as co-Chair of the European Banking Authority’s (EBA) Standing Committee on Reporting, Data Analysis and Transparency.
Ms Armeni Cauchi is Deputy Head of Banking Supervision at the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) and is also the Chairperson of MFSA Supervisory Forum.
The Standing Committee on Reporting, Data Analysis and Transparency is one of seven EBA standing committees, and discusses matters on a level just below the EBA’s Board of Supervisors. It reports directly to that board.
Following her appointment, Ms Armeni Cauchi thanked both the EBA and the MFSA for their trust and support. “This opportunity reflects not only a personal milestone, but also the contribution of the many talented professionals who work every day to strengthen supervision and regulatory reporting,” she said.
Making the announcement on social media, the MFSA said that this appointment reflects its continued contribution to the European supervisory landscape and reinforces Malta’s active role in advancing data-driven supervision, regulatory reporting, and transparency across the EU financial sector.
Christopher P. Buttigieg, the MFSA’s Chief Officer for Supervision, serves as the MFSA’s member on the EBA Board of Supervisors, with Anabel Armeni Cauchi acting as his high-level alternate.
