Angela Azzopardi has been appointed Executive Director of Clearflowplus, a publicly listed subsidiary of the Water Services Corporation (WSC).

The former Non-Executive Director succeeds Matthew Costa, who has also resigned as Chief Financial Officer of the WESC following his recent appointment as CEO of the National Development and Social Fund.

Mr Costa will stay on as a Non-Executive Director with Clearflowplus plc.

An economist, Ms Azzopardi started her career at the Economic Policy Department within the Ministry for Finance and Employment in 2013. Following a number of promotions, she was appointed Head of Secretariat of the Ministry in 2020, a position she occupied until 2024.

Clearflowplus is probably best known for issuing Malta’s first green bond in 2023 to finance environmental projects such as upgrades to the water network and the installation of new PV panels.

The bond carries a fixed coupon of 4.25 per year and is set to mature in 2033.
