Expanding to a valuation of $250 million over the past year, Freeway is hard at work on some major projects to release a new platform by the end of the year, and get one million users signed up.

“2021 was a fantastic year for us. We launched our Freeway platform in our fully regulated brokerage and grew our business 20 times over,” Founder and Co-CEO Sadie Hutton said.

“COVID-19 did not impact our business because we were already committed to remote working with global talent. Our team really is like a family, and we all share in the vision of providing universal access to a better financial future – no matter where you live or what you earn.

“This year should finally see clarification on crypto regulations – vital progress for every business working in crypto, as well as for individuals who want to get involved but have, to-date, had issues with their banking needs, simply because so many banks are unclear on crypto. Regulation and time can solve this, and I think 2022 is going to be an amazing year for legitimising the crypto industry in the eyes of those who still doubt.

“As a start-up, the best thing you can do is to play your own game. Don’t hold back! The world around you will always present barriers – your job is to find a path forward. Don’t forget that two heads are better than one, so find partnerships and teammates who complement you and bring the added value your business needs. Reward people well so that everyone is incentivised to achieve success and feels good about doing so.”
