Norman Aquilina

Norman Aquilina, long-standing CEO of Farsons Group, took to social media to share the three ‘essential’ qualities he believes every manager should hold – no matter their management style.

“A mindset set to influence rather than control” is Mr Aquilina’s first essential quality. He went on to further explain that managers should give more importance to “projecting” rather than “preaching”.

The CEO also believes that business leaders should possess an attitude of “walking the talk” yet also being “ready to listen, rather than expecting to only be heard.”

Lastly, Mr Aquilina emphasised the importance of “believing and taking pride in all that one does, as it inspires optimism and radiates confidence.”

Before adopting these three qualities, however, the Farsons Group CEO insists that managers should seek to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle – both physically and mentally. This, he says, “makes one think clearer, work smarter, live healthier, and ultimately, deliver better results.”

Mr Aquilina has helmed the food and beverage conglomerate as CEO since 2010, having said that, his experience within the group dates back to the 1990s.

During its 75th AGM, held earlier this month, Farsons Group revealed favourable results for the financial year ended 31st January 2022.

The group recorded a profit before tax of €12.2 million – a €7.7 million increase from the previous year. This was mostly due to the 26 per cent increase in turnover that Farsons Group recorded in said financial year.
