The Convenience Shop has announced the appointment of David Tortell as the Group’s new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), effective immediately.

He succeeds Sharon Sammut, who has stepped down from the role. The company expressed gratitude for Ms Sammut’s contributions and wished her well in her future endeavours.
Mr Tortell brings with him over 32 years of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. Before joining The Convenience Shop, he held the position of Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Alf. Mizzi & Sons (Marketing) Group (AMSM).
Since starting his career at AMSM in 1989, Mr Tortell has been instrumental in driving key initiatives, said the press release. He played a pivotal role in establishing AMSM as a market leader in the frozen foods sector and was actively involved in the company’s expansion into Cyprus.
Beyond his primary sales and marketing responsibilities, he also held directorship roles in various AMSM subsidiary companies.
