Gege Gatt

“AI must seek to augment human capability and not replace it,” says Gege Gatt, CEO of AI virtual agent company, EBO.ai.

In an opinion piece on how artificial intelligence is impacting entrepreneurship and business, Dr Gatt reflects on how the future of most work processes is AI-Human collaboration, and therefore, it is likely that some jobs will be lost, while others will be created.

“The World Economic Forum predicts that by 2025 a total of 97 million jobs will be created, with Data Analysts and Scientists, and AI and Machine Learning Specialists leading, while 85 million jobs will be lost, with ‘Data Entry Clerks, and Administrative and Secretaries’ the most impacted. The net gain is to be noted,” he wrote.

However, Dr Gatt says that artificial intelligence will find it consistently hard to negotiate complex social relationships or be creative – “and this domain will, therefore, remain principally human.”

The CEO and entrepreneur highlights that, nevertheless, “it’s critical to state that the future of jobs will closely correlate to one’s ability to build a relevant education system for all. That’s why I think that today, employability is less about what you already know and more about your capacity to learn and adapt.”
