Fernando Mercieca has been appointed Chief Finance and People Officer at Web International Services Ltd (WIS), the Malta-based affiliate marketing company announced on Tuesday.
WIS remarked that Mr Mercieca has been on an “incredible journey of growth and success” at the company, “having achieved not one, but three promotions” during his time there.
He had originally joined the company’s finance department in 2019 as its first Accountant. There he demonstrated “unwavering commitment and dedication, as well as a proactive approach towards all his responsibilities”, WIS affirmed.
Following that, Mr Mercieca was named Finance Manager, and in 2022 was also appointed Head of Finance, a position he held up until his latest promotion.
WIS congratulated him on his “latest and well-deserved promotion”, adding that the company’s team looks forward to his “continued leadership” and this “exciting new chapter” in his WIS career.
Aside from his time at the company, Mr Mercieca also has various years of experience working in accountancy-related roles at a number of companies, including Accounting Services Ltd Malta, Air X Charter, Dixcart, and Francis Busuttil & Sons (Marketing) Ltd.
He holds a Diploma in International Financial Reporting from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), together with other financial reporting qualifications.
WIS was first incorporated in Malta in 2012 by CEO Paul Scheuschner, who ran the company as a “one-man-show” up until 2015, when its first employee was hired. The company has since grown to have more than 50 employees and has made a number of acquisitions. Its main aim is to acquire new clients for iGaming companies and financial services by developing bespoke content and comparison websites.
