George Bugeja has been appointed Partner at Ganado Advocates, after more than 13 years with the firm.

With extensive expertise in corporate law, Dr Bugeja has built a distinguished career assisting clients in key areas such as mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, insolvency and pre-insolvency matters, and general commercial law.

Dr Bugeja also brings a specialised focus on energy law, where he has supported clients in both regulatory and transactional matters, including financing for conventional and renewable energy projects. His experience extends to aviation law and aircraft financing.

In addition to his professional practice, Dr Bugeja holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Law from King’s College London, which he completed in 2018. His thesis, entitled The Basel Accords as a Transnational Regulatory Law: A Focus on Regulatory Consistency and Domestic Embeddedness, underscores his deep understanding of financial regulation and compliance.

Beyond his role at Ganado Advocates, he contributes to legal academia as a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta.

He is also an Accredited Insolvency Practitioner, adding another dimension to his expertise in corporate and financial law.
