Grant Thornton Malta has announced a key leadership transition as the firm enters a new phase of its development, appointing George Vella as Managing Partner.

Mr Vella succeeds Mark Bugeja, who retired after years of leadership, having served as Managing Partner since 2013.

Mr Vella was appointed Partner at Grant Thornton Malta in 2013 and has led the firm’s Advisory practice for over a decade. In this role, he has overseen a broad range of advisory services, supporting clients through complex operational, financial and strategic challenges.

Commenting on his new role, Mr Vella said that he is deeply honoured to take on the position at such an important moment for the firm, with a focus on building on the legacy established, driving growth, embracing innovation, and ensuring Grant Thornton Malta continues to play a leading role within the professional services landscape.

In his new role, he will focus on further strengthening the firm’s tax and wealth advisory offering, supporting clients as they navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
