Hili Properties plc has announced that Georgios Kakouras has ceased to hold the office of Managing Director, following the conclusion of an internal investigation, while interim CEO Daniela Pavia will continue leading the company until a permanent appointment is made.

The listed company, which forms part of Hili Ventures, confirmed the development in a company announcement.

Mr Kakouras had been temporarily suspended in January 2026 pending the outcome of the internal investigation. At the time, Hili Properties announced that Ms Pavia would step into the role of Interim CEO with immediate effect, though no further details were provided regarding the investigation.

The latest announcement confirms that the investigation has concluded and that Mr Kakouras will no longer hold the role of Managing Director.

A Greek national, Mr Kakouras held senior executive positions within the Hili Ventures group, including serving as CEO of Harvest Technology plc until earlier this year, when he was replaced by the company’s CFO, Neacail Micallef.

Before joining the group, Mr Kakouras built an international career in operations and executive leadership. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Board Member at the Intralot Group and Maltco Lotteries. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as an MBA in Engineering Economics Systems from the National Technical University of Athens.

While the announcement marks the end of Mr Kakouras’ tenure, Hili Properties also confirmed continuity at executive level, with Ms Pavia remaining Interim CEO until a permanent successor is appointed.

Ms Pavia has been Chief Financial Officer of Hili Properties since 2020 and previously served as Director of Finance at Hili Ventures, after joining the group in 2015 as Finance Manager for Budgeting and Reporting. Prior to this, she worked with Deloitte.

She holds a Bachelor of Honours in Accountancy and a Diploma in Taxation from the University of Malta.
