Ian Micallef has been appointed Director at Mariner Finance, following Mark Vella’s resignation from the same role on 28th February.

Dr Micallef will also be serving as Judicial and Legal Representative of the Company – a role previously held by Mr Vella.
Mariner Finance noted that Mr Vella tendered his resignation “for personal reasons”.
Mr Vella was appointed to Mariner Finance’s Board of Director on 15th April 2019, succeeding Nicholas Bianco. Soon after, he was appointed to the company’s Audit Committee.
Dr Micallef, a practising Lawyer, joined Mariner Capital Ltd in 2006 as P.A. to the Chairman and Legal Affairs Manager. From 1992 to 1996, Dr Micallef served on the Board of Directors at Freeport Terminal Malta, after which period he was appointed Senior Legal Manager at Malta Freeport.
He takes over from Axel Hefer following Tipico’s acquisition by Banijay.
