Mr Zarb takes over the CEO role more than eight years after co-founding Simply Staking with Mr Felice Pace. The latter will remain closely involved in the business, moving into the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Announcing the change, Mr Felice Pace said the companies had evolved considerably since their founding, navigating three bear markets while adapting to developments in the Web3 and blockchain sector.

“This change of leadership is a way of acknowledging that the right person at the helm requires a different vision and skillset to mine,” he said, congratulating Mr Zarb on his appointment.

Responding to the announcement, Mr Zarb described taking on the CEO position as “both a privilege and a responsibility”, while highlighting the continued involvement of his co-founder as COO.

“It’s been an incredible journey building Simply Staking and Spectrum Nodes alongside you over the last 8+ years,” he said. “From navigating three bear markets to becoming a core Web3 infrastructure provider, I couldn’t have asked for a better co-founder and partner.”

Mr Zarb has a background in technology leadership spanning fintech, Web3, blockchain, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and cloud computing. His experience includes leading multidisciplinary development teams and working on technology projects across blockchain, iGaming, banking, fintech and manufacturing.

His expertise also covers technical architecture, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking and agile project management, with a focus on developing scalable technology platforms and aligning technology strategy with business objectives.

Mr Zarb will work alongside newly appointed Chief Technology Officer Jacques Vella Critien and Chief Growth Officer Kris Bhojwani.

Mr Zarb said the expanded leadership team is preparing the companies for their “new era”, with further developments expected to be announced in the coming days.
