Karl Cilia has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Water Services Corporation with effect from 25th July 2022, the state entity announced on Thursday. He takes over from Ivan Falzon, who has been appointed CEO of Infrastructure Malta.

Mr Cilia is an informatics, technology and management graduate with experience in the private and public sectors. During his career, he worked for the multinational company IBM. He specialised in the field of utilities and was instrumental in the implementation of the smart metering system of the Water Services Corporation and Enemalta.

In recent years Mr Cilia served as Executive Director responsible for the operations of Enemalta.

Whilst thanking Ivan Falzon for his sterling work in the past two years, the WSC wishes Mr Cilia every success in his new role.
