Lara Falzon

Experienced iGaming industry specialist Lara Falzon has been named CEO at AvatarUX, the game studio recently announced.

Ms Falzon’s appointment comes just over a month after her departure from Bragg Gaming, where she served as President and COO for two years, was announced.

She will now be taking over from Nicola Longmuir, who had been CEO of AvatarUX since early 2022, yet is now leaving the company due to family reasons.

AvatarUX is a game studio that primarily works on casino games. Its first game was launched back in 2019, and since then it has worked on multiple games, even being granted a Swedish B2B licence earlier this year. The company has offices in Malta, as well as in the United Kingdom, Poland, and India.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Falzon said that she is “honoured” to be entrusted with the role during what she described as an “extremely exciting time” for the company.

“AvatarUX has grown incredibly fast and has made an impression with operators and players alike for its innovation and the fantastic entertainment its games offer,” she said.

“I look forward to being part of the future success story that will take the company to new heights,” Ms Falzon added.

Ms Falzon has a demonstrated history of working in the gambling and casinos industry, having served in a number of senior roles at various iGaming firms. She describes herself as being skilled in budgeting, external audit, accounting, internal controls, and International Financial Reporting Standards, among other things. Earlier this year, she was named in the shortlist for the Executive of the Year category in the annual Global Gaming Awards.

Tomas Bäckman, Chairperson at AvatarUX, remarked that the company “couldn’t be happier” to welcome her to the team, knowing that the game studio is “in great hands for future growth”.

“Her experience and skills are second to none and will be crucial as we continue to expand and bring new and unique products to the market. It is a really exciting time for the business,” he continued.

He also expressed gratitude to Ms Longmuir for her hard work over the past two years, wishing her well for the future.
