FinanceMalta has announced the return of its annual conference, Malta’s largest financial services event, on Friday, 29th November.

The conference, in its 17th edition, will be held at the Hilton, Portomaso, and is themed “Empowered Financial Services.”

With over 600 delegates, 40 prominent local and international speakers and increased foreign attendance, the conference positions itself as Malta’s largest financial services event.

Chief Operations Officer Graziella Grech noted that the conference is the only one of its kind that covers all industry sectors, including fintech, banking, insurance, aviation, and investments, among others.

“More importantly, all of Malta’s regulatory entities will also be present, providing all attendees with an excellent network opportunity under one roof,” Ms Grech commented.

The conference is scheduled to have a programme of speeches and engaging panel discussions on economic trends, fintech advancements and sustainable finance.

“Malta, like the rest of the world, is going through unprecedented economic and geopolitical change. Our sector is not immune to these changes and given our size, we need to be prepared and empowered enough to adapt to any oncoming challenges,” she said.

With this in mind, she added, FinanceMalta encapsulated this year’s conference theme.

Some of the main speakers at this year’s events include Carmine di Noia, Director for Financial and Enterprise Affairs at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and Kotaro Ishi, Mission Chief at International Monetary Fund.

Furthermore, it will also include Panagiotis Polydoros, Mastercard’s Country Manager for Greece, Cyprus and Malta as well as Fabrice Demarigny, Chairman of the European Capital Markets Institute along with several leading local exponents from the banking, fintech and legal sectors.

All ticket holders will also be invited to attend a pre-conference networking event on 28th November at the Casino Maltese in Valletta.
