Ferratum Bank plc, a bank of Finnish origins dating back to 2005, announce the appointment of Dario Azzopardi as Chief Banking Officer and Darko Popovic as Chief Operating Officer.
Mr Azzopardi and Mr Popovic previously held the positions of Chief Operating Officer and Head of Customer Services respectively.
The news came via a Malta Stock Exchange announcement, as Ferratum Bank plc in May became the first foreign bank to list on the local exchange, successfully listing €5,052,000 six per cent Subordinated Unsecured Bonds.
Mr Azzopardi first joined Ferratum in 2015, having worked in the finance sector in Malta since 2007.
Mr Popovic has worked in Malta since March 2016, having held the position of Director of Customer Service and Customer Experience at Melita. Prior to this, he enjoyed a fruitful career in his home country of Slovakia.
Ferratum Bank p.l.c., a subsidiary of the Ferratum Group, is licenced by the Malta Financial Services Authority to provide a range of banking services to its clients. Its EU banking licence enables it to provide its services from Malta to other jurisdictions within the EEA, including the acceptance of deposits, which are covered by the Maltese Depositor Compensation Scheme.
The company has also registered three aircraft, including the Gulfstream G650.
She will be replacing Ines Silva, who will take on a new role at MAPFRE Madrid
