Karl Gonzi - Entain

Karl Gonzi, long-standing Managing Director (MD) at Entain Malta, is parting ways with the company after a three-year tenure.

Dr Gonzi took to social media to announce this move.

“Hugely grateful to the team, particularly Alistair, Daniel, and Tatiana, who have been by my side from day one – thank you for being true professionals and fantastic human beings,” the outgoing MD wrote.

“Entain’s Malta office is now home to almost 40 employees and is stronger than it’s ever been, and none of that would have been possible without your hard work and determination,” he continued.

London Stock Exchange listed company Entain is one of the world’s largest sports betting and gaming groups operating in the online and retail sector. The group operats some of the industry’s best-known brands, such as Ladbrokes, bwin, Eurobet, and partypoker.

“There are so many other people I’d like to thank, but I do hope you all know who you are and how much I appreciate your support over the last three years,” Dr Gonzi wrote.

The MD position at Entain Malta will now be filled by Joseph Attard – a veteran in the local gaming industry.

“Now onto next steps. I’m very excited to share that on 14th March I will be joining Invicti Security – the global leader in web application security – as General Manager, supporting the company’s activities in Malta, the UK, and EMEA,” Dr Gonzi added.

“Invicti has an incredible growth record and ambitious plans for the future, and I can’t wait to join the team and get cracking,” he concluded.

Before joining Entain Malta in 2019, Dr Gonzi served as VP Legal at Intrapay for nine months. Prior to that, he held the roles of Legal Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel at Credorax for four years.
