PwC Malta has appointed Michael Formosa, Andrew Schembri and Chris Mifsud Bonnici as Partners, the corporate service provider announced on Thursday (today).

Mr Formosa, Mr Schembri and Dr Mifsud Bonnici have years of experience in their respective fields at PwC Malta and beyond.

“Well done to them all for their well-earned appointments, and we wish them the best of luck and every success in their new roles in 2024 and beyond,” PwC said.

Mr Formosa has taken on the role of Assurance Partner, Mr Schembri was named Advisory Partner, and Dr Mifsud Bonnici has been named Tax Partner.

Mr Formosa started his career at PwC Malta in 2007. After serving as Manager for seven years, he was then appointed Senior Manager at the company. He has Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) in Accounting and Management and on LinkedIn listed internal and external auditing, assurance, tax accounting and financial analysis among others as some of his skills in the industry.

Mr Schembri joined PwC Malta in 2015 as Assistant Manager and was later promoted to Manager. Two years later he was appointed as Senior Manager at PwC Malta but was later relocated to the California Branch.

During 2018 and February 2021 he was on tour with PwC US in the San Francisco Bay Area. During that time he had the opportunity to work with leading global companies within the e-commerce and semiconductors industries where his role was to help management on various topics such as IT assurance, governance and risk management and compliance.

Mr Schembri has a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, Banking and Finance along with a Bachelor of Accountancy in Accounting. Additionally, he is a certified Information Systems Auditor.

On the other hand, Dr Mifsud Bonnici has a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Management along with Master of Laws in International Commercial Law. He joined PwC in 2009 as a Corporate Solicitor where he advised on many aspects of corporate law and European company law with a focus on corporate structuring.

In 2013, he was appointed Senior Manager and formed part of the tax and legal services line of service at PwC Malta with a special focus on governance, risk and compliance matters. Recently, he focused on regulatory trends and innovation, particularly with regards to asset and wealth management businesses but also in cross-sectoral areas like ESG and sustainable finance.
