Nichola Portelli has been promoted from Head of Finance to Chief Financial Officer of EBO, a Malta-based tech company that provides AI-powered customer care solutions.
The announcement was made by EBO’s CEO Dr Gege Gatt who said that Ms Portelli’s promotion reflects both her exceptional capabilities and EBO’s belief that building great tech companies requires strong leadership across the board which enables innovation to scale.
“As CFO, Nichola will play a central role in shaping EBO’s strategic and financial direction as the company continues its growth in AI-driven healthcare & financial services,” he said.
Dr Gatt said that while discussion about the need for more women in tech tends to focus on engineering roles, leadership positions such as CFO are equally important to technology success.
“They sit at the intersection of strategy, capital, governance and long term value creation,” he said.
“Nichola’s appointment is a reminder that technology companies are built by diverse skill sets, and that women lead at every level of the ecosystem.”
“We are delighted to have Nichola as part of EBO’s executive team and look forward to the impact she will continue to make as we scale responsibly and ambitiously.”
