Noreen Burroughes Cesareo has been formally presented with her MBE at Windsor Castle, marking a significant milestone in a career dedicated to advancing women in international trade and entrepreneurship.
Sharing the moment on LinkedIn, Ms Burroughes Cesareo described the ceremony as “quite a start to this new year,” noting that she was presented with the honour by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, accompanied by her husband Tom Burroughes and close family.

Ms Burroughes Cesareo was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire in HM The King’s Birthday Honours List in June 2025 for services to Women in International Trade and Entrepreneurship. The investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle formally recognises that achievement.
Reflecting on the occasion, she emphasised the collective nature of the work behind the recognition. “Moments like this are truly a mixture of reflection and celebration. Any recognition such as this is never the result of one person’s work alone. It reflects years of collaboration, shared purpose, and the trust of many people and organisations I’ve had the privilege to work alongside – across borders, sectors, and communities.”
Her work has focused heavily on widening access to opportunity for women in trade and entrepreneurship, as well as building practical pathways that enable ambition and capability to translate into tangible economic participation. “Much of that work has centred on widening access to opportunity for womenintrade and entrepreneurship, and on building practical pathways where ambition, capability, and opportunity can genuinely meet. That progress only happens through collective effort,” she stated.
An international strategist specialising in marketing and communications, trade, enterprise and gender finance, Ms Burroughes Cesareo founded Market Accents in 2007.
Her contribution to global policy and trade discussions has seen her participate as an author, speaker and panellist at major international forums, including the WTO Public Forum, UNCTAD’s Multi-Expert Meeting on Enhancing the Inclusive Dimension of Enterprise Development, Chatham House’s International Policy Forum, the Commonwealth Women’s Forum, and UK parliamentary roundtables on gender and trade.
Ultimately, Ms Burroughes Cesareo described the ceremony as “a humbling moment – and a reminder of why the work continues.”
