Rachel Decelis on Monday shared that she has been promoted to Associate Director of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) at KPMG Malta.

Her new role comes after she spent almost two years as Senior Manager of ESG at the corporate services firm. She was responsible for leading ESG projects and supporting companies in various sectors to develop their ESG strategies, measuring and improving their performance in the area. Ms Decelis was also tasked with coordinating efforts in KPMG Malta’s impact plan, setting out its ESG commitments and goals.

“I’m grateful for the incredible support of my colleagues, especially those working on ESG initiatives across the firm. Your dedication inspires me daily, and I’m eager to continue making a positive impact together,” she said.

She expressed gratitude to everyone who has been part of her journey, including KPMG’s leadership team, as the support “means the world” to her.

Prior to joining KPMG Malta, she was a Senior Environmental Consultant at En-Sure Ltd for over eight years, and was also a Senior Environment Protection Officer at Malta Environment and Planning Authority (now Planning Authority). She also has lecturing experience at both University of Malta and the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST).

Ms Decelis holds a Master of Business Administration from Henley Business School. She also has a Master of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Chemistry and Biology, both from University of Malta. She is a chartered environmentalist and chemist, and is experienced in developing and managing the environmental permitting of industrial activities, and the assessment and mitigation of environmental impacts.
