United Group is marking a significant milestone this year as it celebrates 100 years since its establishment, reflecting on a century of entrepreneurship, diversification and sustainable growth while reaffirming its commitment to building for the future.

Founded in 1926 by Carmelo Gatt Baldacchino as one of Malta's earliest motorised transport businesses, the group has evolved over four generations into a diversified organisation with interests spanning in automotive, mobility, property development, real estate investment and related sectors.

Throughout its history, United Group has adapted to changing economic landscapes by embracing new opportunities, expanding into complementary sectors and building long-standing relationships with international partners, customers and stakeholders. This approach has enabled the organisation to evolve while remaining guided by the same principles of integrity, accountability and responsible stewardship that have shaped its first century.

Commenting on the milestone, Executive Directors Edmund and Simon Gatt Baldacchino said: "Reaching 100 years is an opportunity to reflect on the journey that has brought us to this point and to recognise the many employees, partners and stakeholders who have contributed to the group's success over the years. While we are proud of our heritage, our focus remains firmly on the future and on continuing to build a resilient organisation for generations to come."

As the group enters its second century, its strategic priorities remain centred on responsible growth, disciplined investment, strong governance and creating long-term value through both its established operations and future opportunities in Malta and internationally.
