On 26th August, Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) CEO Rose Anne Cuschieri was elected Vice President of the Commonwealth Council for Educational Administration and Management (CCEAM).

Announcing the news, MFHEA noted that this appointment reflects “her long-standing dedication to educational leadership, as demonstrated by her membership in the Malta Society for Educational Administration and Management (MSEAM).” Dr Cuschieri was elected President of MSEAM in 2021.

The CCEAM’s role includes that of shaping and advancing educational leadership across Commonwealth countries, including Malta.

It brings together educators, administrators, and policymakers to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and develop effective leadership practices.

“Through this platform, our CEO will contribute to important dialogues and initiatives aimed at improving education systems and driving positive change within the global educational community,” MFHEA said.

The authority noted that this achievement is a testament to Dr Cuschieri’s “unwavering commitment” to enhancing the quality and impact of educational leadership both locally and internationally.

Dr Cuschieri has a certificate in Pedagogy and a Bachelor’s Degree in Youth and Community Studies from the University of Malta. Furthermore, she obtained a Master’s and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Sheffield.

Aside from her years as a teacher in different schools in Malta, Dr Cuschieri held the role of Director for Educational Services and CEO of the National Commission for Further and Higher Education. She was also a Part-time Lecturer at the University of Malta, at the Malta Police Academy and freelanced as a Lecturer in leadership, motivation, and stress.
