Salvo Grima Group has appointed Abraham Portelli as its new Group Financial Controller.
Mr Portelli is a chartered accountant with more than 15 years of experience in senior finance leadership and general management roles across a range of sectors, including food and fashion retail, oil and gas, and security services. His career has taken him across Malta, North Africa and the Middle East, providing him with broad international exposure and a strategic outlook shaped by diverse operating environments.
He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Malta and an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA). His MBA dissertation was recognised for academic excellence and awarded the Dean’s List Award in 2021.
In his new role, Mr Portelli will be responsible for overseeing the group’s financial strategy, governance frameworks and overall financial performance, supporting Salvo Grima Group’s continued development.
Outside his professional commitments, he maintains an active lifestyle and participates in several team sports, particularly basketball, as well as trekking, cycling and running.
