Simon Mifsud has taken on a new role as the Head of Commercial Development at Malta International Airport plc.

“After 15 rewarding years with Retail International Group, it felt like the right moment to take on a new challenge,” Mr Mifsud said on LinkedIn.

Formed in 2006, Retail International Group are franchise owners and operators of Marks & Spencer, ALDO, LC WAIKIKI and PUNTROMA in Malta and North Africa with 20+ stores. 

At Retail International Group, Mr Mifsud first worked as the Group Sales and Operations manager, then as Head of Retail for five years.

“That’s a lot of seasons, store openings, milestones and countless moments working with great international brands but most of all amazing people. Those years shaped me, both professionally and personally, and I’ll always be grateful for the experiences and friendships gained along the way,” he added.

“This month I’ve landed in a new role and I’m proud to join Malta International Airport plc as Head of Commercial Development. I’m excited to contribute to the growth of one of Malta’s leading companies, ensuring every journey through our airport is as memorable as the destination itself.”

As the public company that operates Malta’s sole international airport, Malta International Airport plc generates revenue from passenger traffic, aircraft landing fees, and airport retail and property rentals.

Listed on the Malta Stock Exchange, the company’s operations include airport management, retail, and property development, with major shareholders including the Malta Mediterranean Link Consortium and the Government of Malta.
