On Monday (today), Infrastructure Malta confirmed the appointment of Steve Ellul as its new CEO, replacing ongoing Chief Executive Ivan Falzon.

Over the past few days, Mr Ellul was being named for the role but had not yet been confirmed by the Ministry or the agency itself.

In the announcement, Infrastructure Minister Chris Bonett thanked Ivan Falzon for the work carried out during his time in the role.

Mr Ellul, is a financial analyst and lecturer at University of Malta.

Throughout the years he held various high-ranking positions at Bank of Valletta where he was responsible for local and international investments, including in America, the United Kingdom and the Middle East.

Furthermore, he was a consultant in the enterprise and sustainable development industries “and pushed forward the concept of ESG in Malta.”

In his most recent tenure, Mr Ellul served as CEO of Government Agency Project Green after assisting in its establishment but stepped down earlier this year because of his candidacy for the 2024 MEP Elections.

During his time as CEO at the ‘green authority’ he established the Community Greening Grant and other significant environmental projects in San Ġwann and Bormla.
