Sarah Zammit Cutajar

For many, summer presents the only real opportunity to slow down, unwind and restore balance.

P. Cutajar & Co Ltd CEO Sarah Zammit Cutajar, who has led the family-owned business for the past two years, is one such example.

In the latest edition of this year’s MaltaCEOs.mt summer interview series, Sarah details how she prefers to unwind during summer and regain her vim and vigour.

Sarah has been involved in the family business since 1993, having initially joined as Secretary to the Sales & Marketing Director. She has since progressed up the company ladder, and was appointed to the top senior position in 2021. Despite her increased responsibilities, spending time with her family remains a must.

1. Are you a summer person, or do you prefer winter? Why?

Winter as I prefer cozy nights in, and I love the rain.

2. How has this summer been? Why?

Hectic. Work and family, juggling all the children’s needs and demands whilst trying to work.

3. What’s your favourite thing to do in the summer season? Why?

Swim in the sea as it helps me re-balance.

4. Do you prefer going out or staying inside during the summer season?

I enjoy staying indoors and catching up with things at home however, I do like to socialise and meet friends or swim in the sea.

5. Any travel plans? If yes, where to and why?

Out of Europe with my family and this will be a first.

6. What’s your dream summer destination? Why?

Mountain holiday so I can enjoy the cool, fresh air.

7. What’s your best holiday experience?

Always those with my family but probably one that comes to mind is the first time my children saw snow.

8. What’s your worst holiday experience?

Thankfully I haven’t had any.

9. Companies are encouraged to invest to stay ahead of the curve. As a business leader, how are you investing in yourself this summer?

By taking some time off to recharge so that I can feel refreshed and more driven when back at work.

10. From recharging your batteries to taking on a huge task – do you have any particular goals for the summer?

Spend more quality time with my family and make memories.
