‘Time doesn’t wait’ – Tminta Co-Founder shares powerful message about time

Much has been written about the passage of time, and in particular, the strangeness of it over the past year.

Nationwide lockdowns and restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic have heightened our awareness of the subjective nature of time, with some days, weeks and months seeming to pass by so slowly while others whizz past.

Yet while we would certainly be forgiven for wishing for a ‘fast forward’ button which would take us to a time when the hardships of the pandemic are behind us, it’s also important to remind ourselves to be present, and as difficult as it may seem, appreciative for what we have and what we have managed to achieve.

Sharing an emotionally charged video on social media, Curt Ebejer muses on the subject of time, asking, “What is time? And how do you account for it? Everything revolves around time. You can't get time back. Time doesn't wait, time doesn't spare.”

The Co-Founder of Tminta, a recently launched platform bringing self-employed and freelancers together with potential clients, explains that while he too has found himself reminiscing and looking back on the past as a ‘better time’, he now understands that “time as a concept is rhetorical.”

He goes on to highlight that, “if I am fortunate enough, there might be a time in the future where I'll look back on today (regardless how stressed I am today) and say, ‘what a good time it was back then’.”

Emphasising the importance of living in the moment and not allowing ourselves to be fuelled by fear and stress, Mr Ebejer continues, “Time doesn't wait. Be present in the moment and appreciate everyone around you… Spread your wings, take risks, be humble.”
