On Monday, Malta International Airport (MIA) plc announced the appointment of Tina Lombardi as Senior Vice President (VP) of Commercial Development and Strategy.

Ms Lombardi has a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics from the University of Malta and a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Bologna.

She initially joined MIA in 2007, in the aviation segment of the organisation, forming part of the business development and airline marketing teams.

She was then entrusted with leading the marketing and human resources teams, and more recently occupied the position of Senior Vice President for People and Strategy.

In her new role, Ms Lombardi will retain her responsibility for MIA’s strategic direction, while focusing on the growth of the company’s non-aviation related revenues by overseeing the retail and property, marketing and communications as well as the La Valette team.

Furthermore, she will oversee the company subsidiaries of Airport Parking Ltd and SkyParks Business Centre, as well as being the business owner for two of the company’s investment projects. These include the second SkyParks Business Centre and the VIP Terminal.

MIA also announced that Human Resources Manager Alexia Aquilina has now assumed responsibility of the Human Resources department.
