Johann Grech

Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech took to social media to mark the release of a clip from the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion film, which was partially filmed locally.

The production, starring Hollywood A-listers Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, shot a number of scenes in Malta towards the end of summer 2020. Its filming locations included Valletta, Vittoriosa, Mellieha, and Pembroke.

“What an incredible journey. We’re on step closer to seeing Malta as Malta on the big screen in Jurassic World: Domion,” Mr Grech wrote.

“Proud to say we got Jurassic home. The prologue of Jurassic World: Dominion is out now and I had the privilege of being with director Colin Trevorrow whilst he was shooting the outdoor cinema scene,” he continued.

This film was the first production to be partially shot in Malta following the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s set to be released in American theatres on 10th June 2022.
