Yana Vella has been appointed Head of Finance at Kula.

Announcing the move on LinkedIn, Ms Vella described the new role as a “new chapter”, following nearly six years with OKX, where she said she gained extensive experience through “intense learning curves, real responsibility, complex challenges, and most importantly, people”.

Speaking about Kula’s mission, Ms Vella said the company connects capital to real-world projects in emerging markets by funding infrastructure, climate-positive initiatives and local businesses, combining “Web2 financial rigour and Web3 rails” to deliver measurable impact, transparent capital flows and real assets backing investment.

“This is exactly where I believe the future of finance is heading,” she said.

Kula CEO Paul Jackson welcomed Ms Vella to the team, saying her background brings a “powerful blend of financial rigour and innovation”.

“We’re excited to have her as our Head of Finance as we build purpose-led systems and scale Kula’s work across new markets,” he said.

Ms Vella is an accountant by profession and confirmed she will remain within the blockchain industry as she takes on her new role.
