Lawrence Zammit / Atlas Insurance

Atlas Insurance CEO Matthew von Brockdorff on Monday saluted outgoing Atlas Insurance PCC Limited Chair Lawrence Zammit after his countless years of “hard work and commitment” to the company.

This came as the company announced the appointment of Malcolm Booker as the new Chair of the Board of Directors with effect from May 2023, succeeding Mr Zammit. Mr Booker was named Independent Non-Executive Director at the group in June 2022.

While welcoming Mr Booker’s appointment, Atlas Insurance expressed gratitude and appreciation to Mr Zammit for his “significant contribution” to the company’s success between 2012 and 2023. In 2012, he formed part of the first Board composed of a majority of Non-Executive Directors and took over the Chair of the Remuneration and Nominations Committee. From 2014, he took over the Chairs of both Atlas Insurance and Atlas Holdings’ Boards, as well as the chairing of the Investment Committee. Mr Zammit will continue to chair Atlas Holdings’ Board of Directors.

“We are convinced that Malcolm Booker will continue this legacy and look forward to continuing our path to further success with the same commitment,” he added.
