EuroBridge

David Abela has been appointed EuroBridge CEO, taking over from Robert Cassar, the logistics services company shared on Tuesday.

This comes after Mr Cassar announced his departure from the role last month, stating that the will continue to serve as Advisor to the company after the end of 2023.

Mr Abela will thus assume dual responsibilities as Managing Director and CEO.

He brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record to the company, having previously contributed significantly to EuroBridge’s direction. His return to the business’ day-to-day operations marks a “strategic decision” to leverage his leadership skills for the “continued growth and innovation” of the company, EuroBridge stated.

Established in 1995, EuroBridge started as freight forwarders from Italy. However, over the past decade, it has established itself as a leading freight forwarders company, moving cargo to and from all over the world. It offers logistics services, with its main focus being groupage services to and from Malta.

Aside from Mr Abela’s appointment, the company also shared that Matthew Napier, previously Operations Manager, will now serve as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), while Joseph Tedesco has been appointed Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Nicky Vella will be Warehouse Manager.

Mr Napier has an “in-depth understanding” of EuroBridge’s operations, uniquely positioning him to drive commercial strategies that align with the company’s goals.

Mr Tedesco will be tasked with bringing a seasoned perspective to streamline and enhance its operational efficiency. “His dedication to excellence ensures that EuroBridge’s commitment to reliable and efficient freight forwarding services remains unwavering,” the company added.

On the other hand, Mr Vella will continue to have a pivotal role in optimising EuroBridge’s storage and distribution capabilities, “ensuring seamless operations and customer satisfaction”.

The company proceeded to thank Mr Cassar for his contribution over his years of “dedicated service”, bidding him a fond farewell and wishing him well in his future endeavours.

“EuroBridge is poised for a new era of success with this dynamic leadership team, reaffirming our commitment to excellence in the freight forwarding and shipping industry in Malta and beyond,” EuroBridge concluded.
