David Xuereb has been appointed Chairman of the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA).

Having graduated from the University of Malta as well as other universities in the UK, Perit Xuereb has been at the helm of established companies and been entrusted with major projects in Malta and abroad.

Over the years, Perit Xuereb has been actively involved within the fields of sustainable design and the green economy. He has lectured and given talks within various universities and educational institutions, with a particular emphasis on sustainability, the environment and climate change.

Perit Xuereb served as the President of The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry until his term came to an end last March and is also a Director at Malta Enterprise and the recently established Building and Construction Authority.

His appointment as OHSA Chairman comes as his predecessor, outgoing Chairman Manuel Mallia, is set to be appointed Malta's High Commissioner to London.
