Edward Calleja has retired as Chief Operations Officer (COO) at APS Bank.

In an official announcement, the bank thanked Mr Calleja for his “outstanding dedication and invaluable contribution to the bank over 34 years of distinguished service across various roles and responsibilities.”

Mr Calleja was appointed COO back in August 2021.

He joined the bank in 1992, where he was responsible for setting up the bank’s lending function and the centralisation of key operations through the implementation of a loans processing system in 2009. Over the years, he has occupied several positions at the bank, including Head of Advances and Head of Risk.

Mr Calleja holds a Bachelors degree in Accountancy from the University of Malta, a Diploma in Management and an MBA from Henley Management College in the UK.
