Trung Huynh, Chief Technical Officer of London-based start-up Actable AI, took to social media to explain what spurred his team to open an office in Malta.

Founded in 2020, Actable AI aims to use the latest advances in deep learning artificial intelligence to democratise advanced data analytics.

“I first heard about Malta when I met a new friend from here who studied Computer Science at Oxford,” Mr Huynh wrote.

“After a short trip with two friends, I had a good impression of the beautiful, ancient, island nation and its people,” he continued.

In 2016, the start-up’s CTO returned to Malta for his friend’s wedding in 2016. The visit helped strengthen his already-positive impression of the island.

“That’s why when at the beginning of the year, my Co-Founder told me that the Maltese government has a start-up program to attract AI companies I agreed for us to apply immediately,” Mr Huynh continued.

The Actable AI CTO has plenty of experience in the tech sphere.

Trung Huynh

He kickstarted his career in the industry back in 2009 as a Software Engineer at London-based data company Musicmetric.

Since then, he’s worked for various globally renowned companies such as Goldman Sachs and Google.

“After some minor but annoying problems with my COVID-19 passport, we are now in Malta to open an engineering and business office here,” Mr Huynh said.

“I hope the new start will go smoothly and we can recruit many talents in Malta,” he concluded.
