Mr Gardiner remained in the aforementioned position up until his latest promotion.

The newly appointed Head of Contact Centre took to social media to offer some insight into his first day occupying his new role.

“A challenging time, however I am delighted to be a part of it and immensely proud to be working with such a dedicated team,” Mr Gardiner wrote.

Before joining HSBC in 2006, Mr Gardiner served as a Retail Manager at USC and River Island.
