Hilary Galea-Lauri named Non-Executive Director at RS2 plc

Hilary Galea-Lauri has been appointed Non-Executive Director at RS2 plc, the company announced on Wednesday (today).

The announcement was made after the software company’s Annual General Meeting, held on the same day. RS2 is a global payments processor and technology provider, producing on end-to-end payment solutions for both issuers and acquirers on a single payment platform for banks, large financial institutions, integrated software vendors, and other entities.

Mr Galea-Lauri has years of experience working on assurance, audit quality and readiness, among other areas.

Speaking to MaltaCEOs.mt, Mr Galea-Lauri said that in his new position, he will “provide independent perspective to steer the company towards growth and uphold the implementation of its robust governance principles.”

He stated that the innovation RS2 brings to the table, coupled with its “ambition vision for the future,” serve as the driving force “behind his commitment to contribute to its continued success in the years ahead.”

Mr Galea-Lauri worked at KPMG Malta for close to 38 years, leading the firm’s audit team and becoming a member of its Executive Management Committee. He held positions on the Audit Executive Committee and Audit Quality Council within one of KPMG’s sub-regions.

His career at KPMG Malta saw him lead audit mandates for a diverse client base, primarily operating in financial services.

He was also a Council Member of the Malta Institute of Accountants for 18 years, where he chaired its Audit and Accounting Technical Committee, and currently sits on its Ethics Committee.

Mr Galea-Lauri also contributed to the work of the Accounting Working Party of the Fédération des Experts Comptables Européens (FEE), now Accountancy Europe, based in Brussels.

In recent months, he has taken on positions on the Boards of a number of entities, including Chairman of Vassallo group’s Audit Committee, Member of the Board of Trustees at The Parents Foundation for Education, and Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chair at dLocal.
