“If you’re not there to serve your teams in challenging moments, then what are you really there for?” wrote Reuben Abela, CEO of Xace.

He recently took to LinkedIn to share his thoughts on leadership and the importance of serving his team during challenging times after winning the ‘Problem Solver’ company award.

In his post, he wrote, “it’s not really lonely at the top when you’re surrounded by great people!” He expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received from the Xace team since taking on the leadership role.

Mr Abela’s reflections underscore his leadership philosophy, which centres on collaboration and problem-solving.

He credited his team for fostering an environment of support and innovation, adding, “thank you team, and long may we continue solving problems together.”

Mr Abela joined Xace as its CEO earlier this year, a move he described as part of the company’s broader growth journey.

Xace, a multi-licensed, global payment account provider established in 2020, specialises in offering multicurrency and multi-rail banking solutions to under-banked sectors, particularly within the gambling and gaming industries. Despite being headquartered in the UK, Xace also operates locally and serves as the official payment provider for the Malta National Football team and the Malta Football Association (MFA).

Before taking up his position at Xace, Mr Abela served as Chief Operations Officer at Lidion Bank (formerly AgriBank) for 10 months.
