Having an ill-suited job has a multitude of effects on a person as well as on those that surround them, strategic leader Jason Attard has said.
Mr Attard, Head of UX and Design at Game Lounge Group, shared his insights on LinkedIn on Thursday, highlighting the importance of being driven by passion and doing what one loves.
He remarked that although he is not a certified life coach, throughout his working years he has seen first hand and supported fellow colleagues in their career journeys.
“Those who know me well know that I have been in every type of working aspect and too many times I felt stuck in a role because I thought I had no other option. I get it,” he continued.
Mr Attard said that it is never too late for a U-turn because life might lead them somewhere unexpected. He recalls seeing many “amazing colleagues” settling for roles they are not meant to be in and maximise their actual potential.
While in the past years “there weren’t much learning options available”, he said, today is a different world, where digital learning is at everyone’s fingertips.
“It’s like a superhero cape, empowering us to pursue what sets our souls on fire,” he added. You deserve and should do what you love and as my father used to always tell me, nothing ventured, nothing gained,” Mr Attard says.
He wrapped up his thoughts by sharing one last piece of wisdom: “Break free and let passion be your guiding force.”
